eMeter

Website Design

eMeter software gives utilities real-time access to power consumption data, allowing them to quickly respond to issues, make smarter energy management decisions, and ultimately save money.
Because utilities depend on service reliability to their customers for their very livelihood, the decision to embark upon a new vendor relationship is not taken lightly. So in order to adopt a data management software like eMeter’s, a utility needs to be completely assured of the company’s experience and dependability.

Accordingly, eMeter’s website was to be redesigned with two goals in mind: to provide that much needed reassurance with approachable, authoritative and knowledgeable design; and, also, to help secure venture capital.

In my design update for eMeter, my goal was to bring them to the forefront of the newly emerging green energy space. With a clean, modern and approachable design, I feel that I provided a much needed visual counterbalance to the otherwise highly complicated (and ever-changing) topic of energy data management. In addition, the sleek design brought an air of assurance and trustworthiness to the site—combined with solid facts and impressive performance data, a vital key to earning utilities’ trust. Finally, for ease of use, the eMeter site is built on top of a WordPress content management system (CMS) to allow eMeter to swiftly update areas of their site that change frequently.

Results: After the redesign, eMeter secured Venture Capital Funding from Sequoia Capital to the tune of $32 million. As a result eMeter continues to come back for more design work on an ongoing basis.
